Now, here’s a holiday we can really get behind: National Sewing Month! I mean, have you seen our wall of thread? We do some serious stitching around here! While many people know us for our screen printing, we also do embroidery work for customers. Embroidery really elevates a product, giving it a truly customized, hand-sewn look.
OK, we’ve convinced you to try some embroidered products. So (or sew!) what do you need to know?
Not every logo or design works well embroidered on a jacket, hat or shirt. Avoid tiny logos or ones with lots of small text. Also try to avoid using half-tones or distressed logos as they simply don’t reproduce well as an embroidered design.
Keep the design as simple as possible. No photographs or complicated graphics. Think about how the design will be sewn onto the fabric: it’s a little needle going up and down to create the design. An overly complicated or detailed design can end up looking muddy or blurred.
Consider what fabrics work best for embroidery. Tightly woven fabrics like cotton or linen create a suitable surface for embroidery versus flimsy fabrics like silk or thin T-shirts.
Let our garment gurus help you pick out the best items for embroidering. We’ll turn your logo into a digital design that our machines then stitch onto the fabric. It’s a really cool process!
We’ll also give you a physical proof of your product so you know exactly what it will look like. No surprises!
